Kinna Solar Path Light
Link to Purchase
My front yard is so dark. We have 3 huge trees that block all the street light and I live in the country so there is not a lot surrounding us. We wanted some simple lighting that does not SHINE bright but was enough to kind of let others know that the house is lived in and has a little light to show the way.
These lights are absolutely stunning. They come in pieces but are so simple to set up. All you do is pound the black pokey thing in the ground. Screw on the chrome pole then insert the top. The on off switch is under the chrome cap. You put it on auto and forget about it. As soon as the sun goes does up pops the light!!
During the day time, they add such a touch of class to the garden. They really shine in the sun and look WAY more expensive than they are. We have had them set up through 2 very big storms and had no damage to report from the lights.
The lights do not shine over much area so if you are looking for spot lights these are not your thing but they do shine enough to light up a pathway or walking area.
One tip I picked up, if you run into problems with the strip on top fading or losing its clear coating shine you can cover it with clean nail polish! It really works! How neat is that.

Potty Training...
If you have read my profile or know anything about me you should know that I have two beautiful boys. They are currently 2 and 3. They are 10 months apart. It is like having twins... but different, because they are not at the same stages so everything has to be done twice.
We are currently on try number 3 with potty training my 3 year old. The first try failed because I thought my son was ready way before he was ready. Heck, he could barely walk but I was ready for him to be trained. Try number 2 failed because I was unprepared at just how stubborn a child can be.
Yes, he won. He outsmarted me. He fought better than I did. After seeing him in pain for 5 days because he refused to poo, I gave in, waved the white flag, and gave him his precious diapers back.
This time though.... I am going to win! I hope.
I have read every article, spoken to the pediatrician, and spoken to more experienced moms trying to figure out the key to potty training. You know what I learned, there is no key.. every child is different.
Here is what I did learn:
It will happen... someday
Patience is key...
He can not hold it forever...
And no amount of bribing will make it happen sooner than he is ready.
and lastly, but in my opinion the most important... DO NOT GIVE UP.
No matter how many messes, how many days he holds it, how much he whines, or how time consuming it is... do not give up. Keep going. Giving up starts you back at the beginning. Giving up makes round 3 even harder because he has it in his head that you gave in last time, so you will give in again. Stand your ground, stick to the plan that you created, and go for it!
I'll keep you all updated on the progress! haha trust me the whole world will know. And to think, I have another one ready to go.. .right behind him. Wish me luck!!!
